Trump administration confirms Carrie Prejean Boller’s removal from Religious Liberty Commission

#UnitedStates #DC – In a Tweet shared on X, on March 12th, 2026, Carrie Prejean Boller confirmed that she was removed from the Religious Liberty Commission as per an e-mail received from the Trump administration. Ms. Prejean Boller had recently completed an interview with Tucker Carlson on March 10th (aired on March 13th). The removal is speculated to be associated with her approach to Tucker Carlson, who has been hugely outspoken lately against the Trump administration, especially as it relates to the Iran War, and Ms. Boller’s continued defiance to the Trump administration by speaking out on his platform.

In the interview, Prejean Boller went into depth about her experiences in the Religious Liberty Commission, detailing that since the inception of the commission in May 2025, she had been under scrutiny by Paula White-Cain, Senior Advisor to the White House Faith Office, and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, Chairman of the Commission. On February 11th, 2026, Dan Patrick attempted to remove her from the Commission, but Ms. Boller rejected the move, claiming that only President Trump had the authority to remove her since he had appointed her. Patrick claimed the removal was due to her behavior on a February 9th, 2026, hearing on antisemitism, but her latest interview with Tucker Carlson suggests that the removal was a longtime effort from Dan Patrick and Paula White.

Carrie Prejean Boller described in the interview being invited to the commission in April 2025, shortly after receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Catholic Church. She recounted the February 9, 2026, hearing on antisemitism in America, where she challenged the equation of anti-Zionism with antisemitism, questioned witnesses on this equation, and expressed views on the Gaza conflict. She detailed prior warnings from commission figures (including Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Paula White-Cain) to avoid social media posts criticizing Israel, discussing “replacement theology” (supersessionism), or addressing Gaza. She claimed attempts were made to silence her or force her resignation before the hearing. Lastly, Ms. Prejean Boller framed the commission as enforcing a pro-Zionist political agenda rather than truly protecting religious liberty.

As a result of Carrie Prejean Boller’s removal, she received acknowledgement and support from Catholic and Protestant Christians across the United States, including bishops, priests and pastors alike. Notably, however, fellow Catholics and bishops in the Commission itself, Bishop Robert Barron and Cardinal Timothy Dolan, had refused to support Carrie in her situation, or otherwise speak up. Both clergymen were coincidentally absent from the Commission panel on antisemitism. A Muslim advisor and close friend to Ms. Boller, Sameerah Munshi, resigned from her position on Advisory Board of Lay Leaders to the White House in protest to Prejean Boller’s removal and unfair treatment. Notably, there are no Muslim representative on the Religious Liberty Commission either.

Update: On March 20th, 2026, Bishop Robert Barron responded to Carrie Prejean Boller’s removal, stating it to be “absurd” to believe that Prejean Boller was removed due to her Catholic beliefs. On March 24th, 2026, rather than state his own opinion, Cardinal Timothy Dolan simply quoted Barron’s response and stated he agreed wholeheartedly. Both clergymen received stark criticism from faithful Catholics on social media for their failure to support a fellow Catholic in their time of need.

On March 19th, 2026, Carrie Prejean Boller formally received the “Catholic Champions Award” from the advocacy group, Catholics for Catholics, for her defence of Catholicism in her tenure on the Religious Liberty Commission.
