British nursing regulator drops investigation into Christian nurse who refused to use patient’s preferred pronouns
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) dropped both fitness-to-practise investigations against Christian nurse Jennifer Melle on 1 July 2026, ruling there was “no case to answer” after she faced scrutiny for refusing to use a biologically male patient’s preferred female pronouns and for later speaking publicly about her ordeal.
